Explore Nizwa and Wahiba Sands: A Desert and Heritage Adventure

Embark on a 4-day journey through the heart of Oman, beginning with a royal welcome in Muscat. Travel to the historic city of Nizwa to explore its iconic 17th-century fort and vibrant souq, rich with traditional crafts and culture. Optionally, ascend to the scenic heights of Jebel Akhdar for breathtaking views. Continue your adventure into the golden dunes of Wahiba Sands, where you’ll experience thrilling dune bashing, a camel ride, and a magical desert sunset. This unforgettable escape ends with a serene morning in the desert before your transfer to the airport.

Day 1 : Arrival

  • Meet and greet at airport by royal king representative
  • Transfer to hotel
  • Check in to hotel in muscat

Day 2: Muscat to Nizwa

  • Morning
    • Departure from Muscat.
    • The drive to Nizwa takes about 1.5-2 hours (approximately 160 km).
    • Nizwa Fort: Start your exploration with a visit to Nizwa Fort, one of Oman’s most impressive forts. It was originally built in the 17th century and offers great views from the top.
    • Nizwa Souq: After the fort, visit the Nizwa Souq, known for its traditional handicrafts, spices, and silverware. You can shop for souvenirs like khanjars (traditional daggers), pottery, and woven baskets.

Visit Jebel Akhdar (optional): If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a scenic drive to Jebel Akhdar (around 45 minutes from Nizwa). Known for its terraced orchards, it’s a great spot for a quick hike or a scenic drive through the mountains.

Day 3: Nizwa to Wahiba Sands

    • Breakfast
    • Drive to Wahiba Sands: The drive from Nizwa to Wahiba Sands is about 2.5-3 hours (approximately 200 km). You’ll start seeing the desert landscape as you approach the dunes.
    • Dune Bashing and Camel Ride: After lunch, enjoy a thrilling dune bashing experience in a 4×4 vehicle or take a relaxing camel ride across the desert.
    • Sunset in the Desert: As the evening approaches, head to one of the highest dunes for a beautiful desert sunset. The golden light and vast expanse of sand create a perfect photo opportunity.

 

Overnight in Wahiba Sands

Day 4: Departure

    • Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast at your desert camp.
    • Transfer to Airport

  • Travel Insurance: We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any unexpected cancellations, delays, or health issues that may arise during your trip.
  • Changes to Itinerary: Any changes made to the itinerary after booking may result in additional fees and changes to travel arrangements. Please consult with the organizer before making any changes.
  • Tour Timings: All tours and excursions are subject to change based on weather, availability, or local conditions. Confirm tour timings and locations 24 hours before departure

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations received 15 days prior to the arrival date will be cancelled free of charge.
  • Cancellations received 14 to 6 days prior to the arrival date will incur a 25% charge of the total package.
  • Cancellations received 5 to 2 days prior to the arrival date will incur a 50% charge of the total package.
  • Cancellations received 1 day to the arrival date will incur a 100% charge of the total package.
