Welcome Dinner in the evening. You will enjoy a lively welcome dinner as you get to know fellow travelers. You share your stories and learn why the women are on this trip and why they want to explore Oman!
Overnight at Muscat
We will explore the Grand Mosque in Muscat, a stunning structure completed in 2001. This magnificent building showcases the enduring skills of modern craftsmen in creating a traditional environment. The mosque features one of the world’s largest handmade carpets, crafted by women. Visitors are required to wear headscarves, long trousers or dresses, and cover their shoulders. Afterwards, we will head to the Royal Opera House. During a guided tour, a knowledgeable guide will provide detailed information about the building and its furnishings, allowing us to admire this unique gift from the late Sultan Qaboos. Depending on availability, we will visit the Sidab Women Initiative, where we will engage with Omani women and gain insights into the support programs that nurture traditional skills and knowledge across generations. Finally, we will stroll through the narrow, traditional streets of Muttrah Souq. Here, we will experience locals do their shopping and, if time permits, do a bit of shopping ourselves.
Dinner at Authentic Omani Restaurant.
Overnight at Muscat
Tour will be in Coaster Bus and once reaching Wahiba, Transfers to the Bedouin Rustic Camp will be in 4WD vehicles.
We depart the hotel and drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman. It is an oasis in the middle of barren mountains where we can dip our toes into the beautiful turquoise pools or swim in the back of the Wadi. Then we continue into the desert. In our camp we will stay in original Bedouin tents with private open-air bathrooms. But before that, we will eat together and later listen to the stories of Obeid, the owner of the camp, who will tell us about the life of a Bedouin. If possible, his wife will also participate to give us insights into the life of the women here.
Overnight Dinner at Desert Camp
You have three options to start the day: either you take a flight by Hot Air Balloon which starts in a place 25 minutes from here, or you enjoy the sunrise, climbing on the dunes when you will probably meet few people, but goats and sheep, which are kept at some distance from the camp. Many of them roam free, but they keep coming back because they are well looked after here. Maybe we will be lucky and see some mothers with their young and help them with feeding. Third option is to sleep long and feel warm when the sun heats the black Bedouin tents. We will enjoy the typical country breakfast with karak tea and dates. Then we have the whole day for different activities, such as camel riding, enjoying the peace and quiet, photo safari, hiking in the dunes, getting a henna-tattoo or trying on the traditional clothes of the Bedouin women. Maybe we’ll take a photo shoot out of it. We can also go in search of a sandfish; a lizard that moves in the sand the way a fish moves in water. We will also end this evening around the campfire after dinner.
(All experiences mentioned in the program is as per choice of guests and paid directly on the spot)
Overnight Dinner at Desert Camp
Breakfast
Transfer out from the Desert Camp in 4WD vehicles. The Tour will continue in Coaster bus.
After breakfast, we set off to visit the unique women’s market in Ibra. Men actually have No access here, which is not taken seriously by all male tourists, however. Here, everything is offered that is of importance to Omani women, what they surround themselves with at home, what they need for their housework. Then we continue to Nizwa, a former capital of Oman. Here we explore the local souq, one of the few in Oman offering exclusively Omani goods, including pottery, hand-carved khanjars (traditional daggers) decorative silver jewelry, spices and local delicacies. The Nizwa Fort is in the immediate vicinity. In an exhibition we learn a lot about its history and architecture. Its construction reflects the architectural ingenuity of Oman in the Ya’rubi era, with its military fortifications. The main part of the fortress is the huge drum-shaped tower, which rises almost 100 feet above the ground and has a diameter of almost 120 feet.
Dinner at local restaurant (own arrangements & direct payment)
After dinner, we take a stroll through the old town, which has recently seen some new food and beverage projects that make it even more attractive to stroll around.
Overnight at Nizwa.
Breakfast
The Oman across ages Museum, which opened in March 2023, is just a 30-minute drive from Nizwa. You can learn a lot about the history of Oman in an exciting presentation. There are 2 sections in Dabi: before 1970 and after 1970. The exhibition is interesting and interactive. If you want, you can spend the whole day in this spectacular architecture.
Overnight at Nizwa.
It will be an early morning wakeup call as we must get up very early. The famous Nizwa goat market starts at 6am. It will be an opportunity to observe local people meet to sell and buy goats, sheep and sometimes even camels. Before you fall in love with one of the animals be aware that you must organize the transport yourself!
After the market visit, we will return to have our breakfast
After breakfast, we will check out and drive to the “Green Mountains”, Jebel Akhdar. The name is self-explanatory as we get closer. Here, fruit, vegetables and roses are grown and sold all over the country. We explore a village, enjoy wonderful views and green surroundings as we walk along small, old paths through the terraced fields. The paths may have stairs, be steep or run along irrigation canals. There we will learn more about traditional village life.
To get to our quarters, we drive up some serpentines and park the car at the end of the road. Then we make our way with small luggage to the Cliff House, a resort built here by the local population within the walls of an old village. The village seems to be stuck to the mountain and can only be reached on foot via uneven paths and a short suspension bridge. Those who are not yet exhausted can explore further trails from the resort. Those who like it more will enjoy the view.

Breakfast
After breakfast in a grandiose mountain setting and checking out, we set off in the direction of Muscat. We pass the village of Birkat Al Mouz, one of the famous clay villages, which is also worth a visit because of its banana plantations and the Falaj system, a World Heritage Site.
In another village, we see how an initiative is trying to preserve the building fabric and how artists are enlivening the scenery with their paintings.
Drop off at Muscat Hotel
In the afternoon we can enjoy the beach of our hotel in Muscat. We should not miss the most beautiful sunset you can get here in the capital.

Breakfast
After breakfast in the morning, we visit one or more of the nine closely spaced Dimaniyat Islands. The driver picks us up and takes us to the harbor. The boat trip to the islands takes about 45 minutes. Once we arrive at the first stop, the team will show us the best place to snorkel. A small lunch will be served on board between 2 snorkeling stops. The islands are famous for their coral reefs and rich marine life. Turtles are often seen, sometimes dolphins, net moray eels, leopard sharks and lots of healthy corals and colorful fish species.
